NewsJust days ago we received an email from an individual who was upset at the recent decision to put up censored versions of the show on You Tube. Below the email is our official response. To the producers of the CRVH, You can imagine my immediate joy when I received a YouTube subscription update about new videos from dxanex for episodes 1 and 2 of the CRVH. I knew that, with any luck, these videos would soon be available through YouTube via my iPhone. My feelings of joy and excitement escalated to an unfathomable level when a simple search for 'dxanex' in the YouTube iPhone app pulled these videos right up. These feelings quickly turned to disgust and shame when I realized that the episodes had been censored; bleeped like a common network TV show. But how could this be? Who would deny little Chris- the right to say 'cock sucker'? Was this some evil conspiracy cooked up by rouge operatives from some former Soviet nation-state? Had the FCC or the Bush administration gotten to the producers of the CRVH? Had those vile cunts at MADD somehow strong armed Final Boss Productions into bleeping out the offending language (because we all know that cursing leads to drinking and all drinkers are irresponsible murderers)? Then I saw it. The description for each video contains the following statement: To watch [this episode] full and uncensored go to chrisreynoldsvariety.com. If I was Emo I would cut my self deeper than
the deepest wound, because in the mind of the Emo psychological
pain wouldn't be enough – true pain can only be felt through
physical mutilation. If I was full of apathy I would sleep for days,
nay, weeks in the hope that this injustice would resolve itself.
But I am neither. I am an optimistic and passionate young man who,
when faced with an injustice of this proportion, does not hesitate
to scream: WHAT THE FUCK? Seriously, what the fuck? I understand
and commend the use of a 'bug' at the bottom of the videos for www.chrisreynoldsvariety.com
as a promotional tool, but censoring the episodes? Self promotion
is perfectly acceptable and understandable, but self mutilation
is inexcusable. I should be staring down the barrel of episode 3,
but instead I'm looking at a desecrated cut of a show based on the
filth and vulgarity it so blindly casts aside, and for what? Do
you think this will drive more people your site? I think not my
friends….I think not. CRVH official response- In regards to this issue, we at Final Boss Studios understand your frustration, as we too are largely opposed to censorship and government regulation of communications. However, we must maintain that You Tube is a very powerful tool for which to get the show out to the public, and thus is imperative that we maintain a level of professionalism and (yes, sadly) even restraint, so that we may appeal to the broadest possible audience until we have established a solid fan base with their own expectations for the show. We must also make it clear that any “emo” feelings that you are experiencing are not the direct fault(s) of the creators of the show. If you have experienced urges of cutting yourself, then we must recommend only that you to seek the professional advice of a therapist or family physician, as we do not have the proper medical background to comment any further on this issue. Again, we are sorry that the censorship of the You Tube clips has troubled you, but no matter what, you will always be able to find the real fucking deal here at ChrisReynoldsVariety.com!
